I wish you all a healthy and a happy life. Keep up the good work!

A heartfelt gratitude to Frau Christa Mehringer for your donation. Joey Nantes benefited on the same.

Congratulations, Marites!

Marites achieves a lifetime goal!
Marites, whom I met in 2004 during her elementary school days in Quirangay, Camalig, Albay, Philippines, has successfully finished her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.

A beautiful, strong and smart young lady, Marites Nacor!

You are the best proof that every girl's dream of education is valid. Your struggles against poverty, your hardwork and persistence deserve a round of a big applause and yes, am so very proud of you, Ites.

I am also proud of your sisters, Maribel and Margie Nacor, for the support they gave to you. I wish all of you a good life, and may you stay healthy and supportive of each other!

To those people who helped Marites achieved her college education, kindly accept my heartfelt gratitude.

Thank you for your success. It gave me an assurance that this child-help project which I started fifteen (15) years ago, sending students like you to elementary and high school, was the right step to helping poor but deserving students uplift their quality of life through education.

CONGRATULATIONS, MARITES!

Margie Alemania Nacor braucht dringend Hilfe.

Ich muss handeln.

Maligayang Pasko!

It was a long time. No excuses for not writing. I was busy with my new field of work, and I was sick for a long time.

Unexpected things happened.  Herr Fester passed away last year, and I lost contact with his wife, Frau Fester, for reasons I could not control. She is always in my heart, and I will always be thankful of all her support to me.

Margie`s sponsor Mrs. C. Klingler from Crailsheim woke me up from a long pause. She still cares for Margie Nacor, her sponsor child. On Christmas, she sends Margie a Christmas Gift, a cash amount which is badly needed especially on this time of the year. Margie did not continue her college education due to family problems. She is taking care of her sick mother.

Mrs. Klingler reminded me that there still should be space for sending help, to letting other people know that we are still here. I was so occupied with recuperating from illness, and yes, filled with bad moods and self-pity, that I was procrastinating things. I thought I have done and spent enough for others. This child-help project demanded a lot of energy and money from me, and sometimes, I was thinking, there should be no more further step to make.

But Margie Nacor is still struggling. Without a College Diploma, she would not be able to uplift herself from poverty. She have to help herself first before she could support her family.

What to do next? I asked Margie to talk with her family. I want to pull her out of that remote area in Quirangay. I want to send her to College in San Fernando, La Union, so she could finish her studies.

She said she would talk to her father. The answer is yet to come.

Thank you, Family Klingler of Crailsheim. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

For Mrs. Balde....

For my dearest Mrs. Balde,

Intuitive you are!
The best word that describes you as a beautiful person!

I do feel honored and privileged when Venus, your lovely daughter asked me to find a word for you on your 80th Birthday.

The perfect word is intuitive. You deserve it, Mrs. Balde, You are a person who acts by instinct. You have that "feel" for a situation.
Teaching requires intuition. You just know how to present things so that students understand the matter. When it comes to finding the best moment, you are the most capable person, Mrs. Balde.

O
n your 80th Natal Day, it is my sincere wish that you stay healthy and happy. I hope we can see each other again in the future because you deserve a BIG HUG and a BIG KISS, for your instinct! Michael Angelo Blando is now a successful Electronic Technician working at Samsung Philippines.
YYou have paved the way to his success. Your intouition and your desire to help Mick inspired me, and is still inspiring me as I get older, Mrs. Balde.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch, Lola Collie! I have you in my heart and mind.

Congratulations, Maribel!

This is very heartwarming!

Maribel Nacor, one of the sponsored high school students of Frau Fester from Crailsheim, Germany, has  currently absolved her degree in Bachelor of Education.

Now, she is about to review for the Licensing Examinations for Teachers in the Philippines.

The Laudatio is not only for Maribel, who, despite of poverty, struggled very hard to achieve her dream of acquiring a College Degree thru Scholarship Grant, but also for her younger sister, Margie Nacor, who sacrificed her own studies just to pave way for Maribel. Margie stopped her schooling just to be able to stay home and take care of their sick mother, and shared her allowance for the sake of  Maribel's conquest to be a teacher.

The story of these two sisters touched my heart and mind. I am so very proud of you, guys!

Goodluck and I wish you both the best of luck in the future.

Congratulations, Maribel and Margie!

Seeing everyone struggling....

Updates and exchange of communication between the former  members and scholars of the Friends of Germany, are nowadays possible through the Internet and Social Media. Am I glad that there are former students, who,  from time to time, are sending simple messages and thank you notes to the initiator and to former sponsors. It is delightful and heartwarming to know that some do not forget the help extended to them. The sense of appreciation from the former scholars is the best fruit of this child-help project.

Seeing everyone struggling to uplift themselves from poverty reminds me of the difficult times I have been through some forty years ago. At a very young age, I had to work to earn money to be able to go to school. My mother had to give me away for the sake of  my education. I am grateful though, that I experienced poverty. From that, I learned to treasure the little successes I have achieved.

I am still struggling. I have my profession. It is still not easy, but it comforts me that I have something in my pocket that nobody can take away from me. That is....EDUCATION!

To the former scholars and to Margie, please continue with your pursuits of higher education.

A long pause but I am still here!

Quite a long time of silence!

A chronic disease robbed my energy and motivation to keep you updated. Added to that, I was spending all my time from hospitalization through medical rehabilitation.

There are few good news though. Frau Fester is recuperating from a long illness, too. Am I glad that she has recovered from a severe sickness. Good people deserve good luck.

What is new? Well, I am glad that some of the former students who received benefits from my friends in Germany do not forget to say hello from time to time. Keep up the good work and I am very proud of what you have been achieving in life. Through Facebook, I can be updated from the scholars. Liezel Padios is doing well in her private and career life. Jo Ana and Margie are also working and earning their own money already.

Michael Blando is performing well at Samsung Technologies. Keep up the good work, Mick! We are so very proud of you!

Sadly, Margie stopped her college studies to work and help finance her parents and kin. I can fully understand because I myself experienced the same. I hope later, when the opportunity comes, she would continue with her studies.

I am thanking you all for bearing with me in good and old times.

Herzlichen Dank, Christa, Fam. Fester and Fam. Klingler.

The 13th Year....

Quite late to greet everyone a happy 2015 but allow me please to do it after recovering  from some anxieties in the past. May the year  2015 brings us good health, luck and prosperity. Reminiscing the past, from  November 2002 up to present, we have survived the difficulties and from them, we learned our lessons, and we were successful in certain ways.

The ten (10) beneficiaries of the Friends of Germany Child-Help Project successfully finished their High School, two of them their college studies. The remaining scholar, Margie Nacor, who stopped her Journalism Course due to health and Family problems, aims to continue her studies. I wish her all the luck and I am thanking her loving and caring sponsor, Fam. Klingler, for their continuous Support for Margie. The latter currently received her Christmas Gift and her monthly allowance until June 2015 is secured.

The main sponsors of the project, Fam. Wallo and Helga Fester, are still recovering from their ilnesses but am I very happy and thankful, that they are recovering from the mishaps of 2014. These great and nice people do not deserve those bad luck but they happened and they are bravely facing and handling the problems they encounter everyday.

Herzlichen Dank, Fam. Fester, Fam. Klingler und Christa!

Montag, 17. November 2014

Keep going, Margie!

The Friends of Germany had several setbacks this year. The first schock was the sudden illness of ist main sponsor from Crailsheim, Fam. Fester. Second, the bad health of the organizer herself. Third, Margie Nacor's unhealthy condition. Indeed, it is a year of mishaps and it continues.

BUT THE HOPE LIVES ON. Frau Fester and Herr Fester are recovering, so as well Mel and Margie.

Margie takes care of her Family and herself right now, and she had to stop her Journalism Studies this year.

We are hoping for better times.

Goodluck to everyone of us. Take good care!

Congratulations, Jo Ana!

The people behind the Friends from Germany heartfully congratulate Jo Ana Crisostomo, who has recently graduated from Bachelor of Science in Education in Daraga, Albay, Philippines.

We are very proud of you, Jo Ana! May you continue your successful journey in life.

Your success is the best proof to the ideals of this project. Without your perseverance, the people behind this project would not reach their goals of helping other people escape poverty.

To my dear friends in Germany who are helping me with this project, I am thanking you all from the bottom of my heart. Thank you very much especially to Fam. Waldemar and Helga Fester, Familie Klingler, and FRau Christa Mehringer, who helped me finance Jo Ana's education.

We have changed lives and we gave Jo Ana the best legacy... and that is EDUCATION!

Herzlichen Dank!

Get well soon, Frau Fester and Herr Fester!

Family Fester is having a very hard and sad times nowadays. Herr Fester just had his operation and is still recovering from his sickness and Frau Fester is very ill since last week.

May I please ask all of you to pray for their soonest recovery.  This family helped us a lot in the past and are still helping us up to now.

WE LOVE YOU, FAMILY FESTER!  Get well soon!

GUTE BESSERUNG!!

Happy New Year!

To all the people who are involved in this project, I wish you all a healthy and successful 2014.

We are on our 12th Year of changing some lives. Indeed, those were good years! The children are grown up, most of them working already and they are standing on their own feet, with the legacy of education.

I would like to thank not only the sponsors of this project, who have been helping me since 2002, but also the sponsored children of this small private organization, who have shown their diligence and have proven, that they deserve the support given to them by successfully achieving their dreams of having an education.

There are two remaining scholars left, who are struggling hard to finish their studies.

To Jo Ana, who will become a teacher by March 2014, we wish you the best of 2014!

To Margie, who will become a Journalist someday, we wish you the strength to keep up your good grades.

My heartfelt thanks to Family Fester, Family Klingler and to Christa who are continuing their support on this project.

Have a good year, folks!

Long time ago....

It took time for me to write on this blog. I was occupied with attending to my health needs and there was no time..or better, no inspiration to write. I was down the last months. Healthwise.

Michael Blando is doing well with his work.  He is now working with Samsung Philippines. I feel proud of his achievements, finishing his studies and now, standing on his own feet.

Marites is looking for a job. Goodluck, Marites!

JoAna will be having her last semester and hopefully, she would finish her studies and will pass the Board Examinations for Teachers.

Margie is struggling hard. I wish her the passion and faith, so that she would continue her studies.

It is very difficult to finance this project which I started in 2002. Two years more and I hope I could finally say - successfully finished!

Congratulations, Marites!

Visiting Family Fester

Time is scarce. My work demands a lot of overtime but as much as possible, I wanted to spend time with the Festers, the main sponsors of my child-help project in the Philippines.

Michael Blando has just graduated from College of Electronics Technology. Eleven (11) years of financial and moral support from Crailsheim and it is but important to visit these generous people so as to let them know how thankful I am for their never-ending support.

I will never forget you, Family Fester, Family Klingler, and Frau Christa Mehringer.

You have touched and changed our lives.

On behalf of the children, I am thanking you from the bottom of my heart.

Stay Healthy in 2013!

Hallo, Friends from Germany!

I paused for sometime writing in this blog for several reasons.

First, I encountered some personal and financial problems, which to my gratefulness, were solved but it took some time for me to regain my stability in Europe.

Proudly, we can say again that we were able to survive the years!

Michael Blando is graduating this March, 2013.  Jo Ana Crisostomo is in her Third Year College in Education, Margie Nacor is having his second semester in Journalism, and Marites Nacor is finishing her High School!

There are times that I feel weary struggling against financial storms but then, I can proudly say that,
the project is already successful.

Thank you for all the supporters and members of the Friends From Germany.

I wish you all a happy and healthy 2013!

Mittwoch, 28. November 2012

For my dear friend Christa....

May you withstand all the worries concerning your bedridden mother and am sending you energy and the sincere wish that you can battle the sadness and hopelessness covering your days this week.

Be brave and take good care, Christa!

Students are enrolled...

November 2012 marks the 10th Year Anniversary of this child-help project!

It is very heartwarming to know that most of the group members who availed of the scholarship grants are now harvesting the fruits of their efforts. They are already earning their own money and can stand on their own feet!

We are proud of you, guys! Keep going and continue to reach your goals.

Michael has enrolled for his eight and last semester. Four years passed swiftly and in less than six (6) months, he will be graduating from his Electronic Technology Studies. We wish you all the luck, Mick!

Jo Ana, Margie and Marites are still struggling with their lessons. Keep up the good work and may we have the luck to continue our project goals.

Financially, it is hard but I know we can make it as we did in the past!

Goodluck, everybody!

Happy 18th Birthday, Margie!

Margie Nacor, the sponsor child of Corinna and Marco, turned 18 years old last October 3, 2012.

The Friends of Germany congratulates her on der Debut!

We wish you goodluck, health and happiness.

Keep up the good work, Margie!

Standing...still!

Here I am, back to my own feet again.

Well, of course, with the help of  my friends in Munich, Germany, am still standing and willing to go through all the challenges of starting all over again, in private and in my working struggles.

I am standing....still! Based on my own experiences, there is always a way.

To all those students, who were part and are still are part of this project, never give up.

Get going.

Starting All Over Again in Munich

Hi folks!

The last month was full of sudden changes and turbulences!

I am back to Munich, lucky enough to get another year of Nursing Contract, as I await my Nursing Recognition from the Swiss Red Cross in Bern. The process will take some months. The papers were submitted, and am hoping I can get the much-needed visum and work contract soon.

In the meantime, am working in Munich, Germany again. Good thing is that I am with my friends in Munich again. Christa, Mary Jean, Michelle and Manfred, and not to forget the "Olchis"!

Get going. Never give up - is my motto nowadays.

There is hope. There is.

A good Sunday...

Via Skype, I was able to talk with my relatives from Norden Germany and we are all very thankful that everyone in the family seems to tackle health problems and somehow, everything goes on smoothly.

We have learned from the past and surely, as a family, we can help each other. The next generation needs a stable foundation and that is education. Two nephews and one (1) niece are attending their college education, and surely, the costs are enorm but hand in hand, we can make things possible. While climbing our own ladders, we as family, have to help those who are beginning to climb up their own.

Thank you, Kuya Gerd, for the never-ending support and help. I wish you good health and may your business grow for the benefits of us all.

Study well, guys. Education is your legacy.

Enjoy your Sunday, dear readers!

A Special Thanks to Christa

Danke, liebe Christa!

sondern gewinnt.

Was gewinnt man?

Margie's Letters

Thank you, Christa, for sending Margie's letters to me.

The letters will be forwarded to Frau Fester and Frau Klingler this week.

Margie's messages inspired me to go on with this child-help project.

Through the years, we have been through financial difficulties but time has proven that in a way, we can achieve our goals by having faith and confidence that things will go just right.

After a couple of downfall in Germany, I was able to get a work in Switzerland. A new home. A new life, a new challenge.

May this serve as inspiration to you, my dear students. Keep on going. You just have to do something to be able to achieve something.

If you would not try, you would only lose.

Have a good day, everyone!

Frau Fester is turning 70 and I will be in Crailsheim on the 29th to the 30th, so as to celebrate the moment.

Hallo Guys!

For all my friends from Germany, Austria and the Philippines who gave and are still giving me moral support to stand strong the past hard times in my life, my heartfelt gratitude. Without all of you, I would not be able to digest some of the trials of 2011 and 2012! Thank you. Let us call that phase "Woman Interrupted"

Now I am back to normal life and am I as strong as before, when not stronger.

There are things to mention. First, our congratulations to Herr Fester, who celebrated his birthday on March 12, 2012. Herzlichen Glückwunsch also to Hr. Schröder of Olching for celebrating his natal day on March 27, 2012.

Visiting the Fam. Fester in Crailsheim

Sitting inside an Intercity Express bound  to Hamburg, am reminiscing the time I spent with Thomas in Heidelberg in 1997. I met Fam. Fester when I was studying Nursing at the University Clinic of  Heidelberg. Thomas was then a dying patient. For the first time in my life, I was confronted with death and I realized how precious living was and is.

Thomas was my "Examination Patient", three days after my successful Nursing Examinations, he died of a heart failure. The friendship lives through his parents, Waldemar und Helga, who fulfilled Thomas' invitation for me to visit his home city Crailsheim.

Today, I will be visiting Crailsheim. I will be seeing Fam. Fester again, whose support made possible the success of my child-help project in the Philippines. I will be visiting Thomas in his grave and will tell him how far the friendship has gone and is going.

Thomas lives in my heart. Thank you, dear Thomas!

Reviving Friendship with Tine

Finally, I was able to visit Tine in Ebersberg. I met her mother in-law, Gudrun; Cedi, her husband; and most especially, Colin, her handsome and playful son!

Tine, former sponsor to Ryan Nacor, and who visited Mel in the Philippines in 2005 and in 2009, is now coping up with her motherhood. I feel very proud and happy about her marriage and her giving birth to Colin.

Thank you, Tine, for the shared laughters and exchange of thoughts. Thank you for the friendship and may we see each other soon.

Friday, the 13th!

It was a day to remember!

Christa and I met at the Wiener Platz and spent an hour of laughters and talk. We both have our night shifts and we decided to have coffee and an Apfelstrudel with Vanilla Sauce before we attend to our duties. After spending an hour inside a coffee shop near Max Weber Platz in Munich, we decided to walk around the corner before going home. To our surprise and delight, it snowed and suddenly, everything was covered with snow, including our heads and clothes!

It felt good to have chilling snow in the cheeks. Indeed, it was a happy day for me. After living eight years in the Philippines, I feel lucky to experience again the falling snow in Germany.

Marites will be having her JS Prom!

Marites Nacor will be having her Junior-Senior High School Prom in February, 2012!

I bet Marites is looking forward to this event and is already excited.

Time flies swiftly! Enjoy your teen years, Marites!

Friends of Germany turns 9

The Friends of Germany will be celebrating its 9th Year Anniversary in November 2011!

Program founder and initiator Mel K. feels both sadness and happiness reminiscing the hardships and success she encountered implementing her goals set for the project."People can be so destructive when it comes to envy", Mel said. Death threats in Quirangay, Camalig, Albay, and destructive criticisms of corrupt Barangay officials in 2005, forced her to leave the children in Camalig but she continued and still continues to help whenever she can.

"The worst is not the encountered financial difficulties but the inacceptance and lack of support from my own family. My relatives think that I am giving more to other people than helping my own bloodline", Mel said. "Added to that, some of the children and parents in Quirangay misunderstood my goals  but there are other children who were grateful and who understood my vision so that I continue to serve as a bridge to those who are needy and to those who are willing to help", Mel K. stated.

Mel K.'s friends from Germany who continue to support her to finance the needs of Michael Blando, Margie and Marites Nacor include Fam. Fester, Fam. Klingler and Frau Christa Mehringer.

Starting All Over Again

Whew! What a week! Now, I am in Klinikum rechts der Isar. I have a tiny flat but I am happy that I was able to get out of G3 in Grosshadern. I feel comfortable at Chirurgie 1/2. I have good feelings that I made the right decision to change my working place. I know that there are other better places to work and live in Munich.

I do not feel lonely at all. I have met a lot of friends and there are still handful of good friends yet to meet in Munich. Tine, Cedi and Colin are waiting for my visit.

By the way, yesterday was Margies Entrance Examinations at the Bicol University. I hope she would pass the tests so that she can grab a BS Chemistry or a Chemical Engineering Course there.

Let us keep our fingers crossed, Margie and thank you, Friends from Germany, for your never-ending support.

14 Days in Schwarzenberg

Fourteen days and nights in Schwarzenberg gave me enough strength and vitality to face my new assignment on the 16th of September, 2011, at the Klinikum Rechts der Isar in Munich.

Carmen and Anke made my stay really memorable and awesome.

Thank you, Carmen and Anke!

P.S. Thanks, too, to Frau Fester for being so kind and understanding. I will be visiting you sometime in October!

Mittwoch, 31. August 2011

My heartfelt gratitude!

I would like to thank Christa for letting me use her flat for three consecutive nights at the Heiglhofstrasse in Munich. I slept very well and had some time to relax after finishing my duties at G3 Klinikum Grosshadern.

I will be missing some of  my new friends. Time will tell if the friendship will truly last. Arsim, Nicole and Sophie are good comrades. Roland, my boss, will I never forget. To Frau Menacher, the one who gave me the trust and job in Munich last April 2011, my heartfelt gratitude.

I am very lucky because Christa is around in Munich. Without her, I would really feel at lost in here. She is a very dear friend. Always supportive and helpful in any way she can.

Mara, Günter, Isolde, Annamarie, Dominik, Tobias and Luzie from Olching are also giving me their moral support nowadays.

Anke and Carmen, the good, old friends from Old Heidelberg, are still very helpful to me. What a lucky person I am.

Thank you, guys, from the bottom of my heart.

Homesick in Munich!

For the first time after 14 weeks in Munich, Melk is getting homesick in Munich.

After almost 10 years of absence in Germany, life and living is not that easy for Melk nowadays. She has to cope up not only with the cold weather but also with her new colleagues and work shifts. Some of her colleagues are making her working time really hard.

Yes, life can be tough in Germany, especially when you are from a foreign country. Melk is thankful though, that some friends around like Fam. Fester, Christa, Carmen, Anke, Mara and Günter are helping her tackle big and small problems in Munich.

June 28, 2011 is Frau Fester's Day

Send your greeting cards to Mel earlier so she could translate and send them to Frau Fester soon.

Michael's Letters Arrived

Thank you, Michael Blando, for sending in your notes, receipts, and letters to Fam. Wallo and Helga Fester.

Herr Wallo Fester is very thankful and happy for the self-made birthday card Michael made for him. He extends his gratefulness to you, Mick!

Keep up the good work, Michael and enjoy your 5th Semester at the Bicol University in Albay!

Lovely Crailsheim

Revisiting Crailsheim equals reminiscing the days when Melk got to know Thomas Fester 1997 in Heidelberg.

Thomas helped Melk during her Practical Nursing Examinations and a beautiful friendship began. He invited Melk to visit Crailsheim. Sadly, Thomas suddenly died of a heart failure but his parent's fulfilled his wish and they invited Mel to come to Crailsheim to attend Thomas's funeral. Those were heartbreaking moments but the beginning of a beautiful and heartwarming unique story from the lovely city of Crailsheim.

Fam.Wallo and Helga Fester become friends to Melk. In 2002, they supported Melk in organizing a child-help organization in Albay, Philippines. Through Fam. Fester, other generous sponsors namely Fam. Marco and Corinna, Frau Hessenauer and Fam. Wolfgang and Dagmar Klingler, gave (and some are still giving) their financial support to some needy but deserving children in Albay, Philippines.

June 06 and June 07 were memorable days for Melk. She was able to meet the generous and hardworking Frau Hessenauer, Marites' sponsor; Fam. Marco and Corinna with her lovely daughter Jule, and she had the chance to see again the kind couple Fam. Wallo and Helga Fester.

Fam. Marco and Corinna will continue to help Margie in her quest for a higher education. Margie is planning to study Education and to become a teacher someday. She will be needing eight (8) semesters, a period of four years. Fam. Fester wishes to continue their support for Michael Blando, who is attending his Bachelor of Arts in Technology at the Bicol University in Albay. Michael is currently on his 5th Semester.

The lovely city of Crailsheim is full of friendly and generous people.

Thank you, Crailsheim!

To JoAna - congratulations for finishing your first year college course on Education. You can make it. Just study hard and your dreams will come true.

To Michael - congratulations for absolving your Second Year College in Electronics Technology. Two years of hard toils await you but I know that you will make it. Just study hard and take care of your health.

I would like to thank Fam. Fester from Crailsheim and Frau Mehringer from Munich for their continuous support.

Vielen, vielen herzlichen Dank, Freinds From Germany!

To my friends in Germany

Reminiscing the past, it was the year 2002 when I started this child-help project in my homeland, The Philippines. We started with free tutorials and child activities on weekends. Thirty (30) children from  needy barangays Pawa, Bogtong and Quirangay in Camalig, Albay, were given the opportunities to join the project. Six months after, we were able to give scholarships to four (4) students.

In 2004, as I left Germany for good, a total of ten (10) scholarships were given to poor but deserving students of Barangays Pawa, Bogtong and Camalig, Albay. In 2009, six (6) students graduated from High School. One of them, Michael Blando from Barangay Pawa, got a college scholarship from Fam. Fester from Crailsheim. The latter pays for his semestral fees and Michael gets One Thousand Pesos (P1,000.00) monthly as school allowance. Michael is now on his 2nd Year taking up Bachelor of Science in Electronics Technology.

Margie, the sponsor child of Fam. Klingler, got a monthly allowance of Five Hundred Pesos (P500.00) monthly. The Friends from Germany shouldered miscellaneous costs including school uniforms, Christmas and birthday gifts, school supplies, shoes, clothes, and other unexpected dues such as field trips. The Dominican School in Camalig shouldered her monthly tuition and book fees. Her graduation fees were paid by Christa. Fam. Klingler and I donated some amount  including a Five Hundred Peso (P500.00) cash gift. Margie also received a Surprise Box via LBC on March 22, 2011.

Margie, like Michael, will probably receive a College Scholarship Plan from the Dominican School in Camalig. She has yet to pass the College Entrance Examination in Bicol University in Albay.

Marites, the sponsor child of Frau Hessenauer, gets Five Hundred Pesos (P500.00) monthly for transportation allowances. She is attending her 3rd Year High School in Malabog High School in Daraga this schoolyear 2011-2012 and will be finishing her High School in March 2013. Marites regularly gets school supplies, uniforms, Christmas and birthday cash gifts from The Friends From Germany. She is a sponsor child since 2004.

Looking back on those achievements, I also remember not only the financial hardships but also of the disappointments I encountered during those years - the extortion and death threats from Quirangay, the lack of support from the local authorities in Camalig, the distrust of some parents of the sponsored children, and the worst - my own family's envy towards this child-help project. Nevertheless, the never-ending support and understanding of my friends in Germany gave me strength to continue with my goals of helping those children. Without your financial help, I will not be able to send those children to school. Margie's graduation on March 25, 2011, is another proud achievement of friends helping each other to change the lives of poor children.

I am very thankful to you, my dear friends in Germany and Austria, for touching the lives of Liezel Padios, Maribel Nacor, Rosemarie Nacor, Margie Nacor, Marites Nacor, Andy Crisostomo, Michael Blando, Jaymmars Nolasco, Joey Nantes, and Ryan Nacor.

My gratefulness to the project caretaker, Jo Ana Crisostomo, a sponsor child of the Children's International in Pawa, Legazpi City, Albay, for her continuous and honest fulfillment of her duties for the welfare of the members of the Friends of Germany.

As I leave on March 25, 2011 for Munich, Germany, to work again as a Nurse, I will carry with me the memories I shared with these children and I will personally, one by one, over a cup of coffee or tea, thank you all for the financial help and moral support you gave me to make this endeavour a success.

See you all soon in Germany!

Fondly,

mel

Hallo, liebe Freunde!

www.antipinoy.com

Hallo Mick, Jo Ana, Margie and Marites,

www.antipinoy.com is critical and logical thinking. You can read the articles there, if you have time. If you do not understand something, do not hesitate to ask questions. Send them thru SMS or email. I will be glad to answer your queries.

I know you are all busy with your studies but try to manage your time so there will be some minutes left for politics. Often, television and newspapers are telling only the other side of the stories.

Be critical in your thinking.

For now, we wish you Happy Learning!

Happy in Legazpi

May 04, 2010 Meeting

Mel K. left San Fernando, La Union on the dawn of May 03, 2010, and after almost twenty (20) hours of bus ride, she reached Legazpi on May 04, 2010, at 07:00 am. The first step was to visit the Crisostomo of Pawa, Mrs. Nerlita Crisostomo and daughter Jo Ana, project caretakers since 2006.

Mel K. was able to get the donation from Fam. Fester from Banco De Oro. At 09:00 o'clock, everyone was present at Dunkin' Donuts, where the Friends of Germany members meet and greet each other over a cup of chocolate and a donut. It has become a tradition starting the meeting with a Donut Snack.

Maribel and Rosemarie Nacor took some days off to join the rest of the group - Margie, Marites and Michael. There were a lot of stories to tell since Mel K. was not there for three (3) long years. The kids have grown up. Everyone looked happy except for Marites, who was consistently reminded by the group to speak, to laugh and to smile.

After the snack, the group went to Ely's Studio for the group picture taking, then strolled along the Sea Wall Park and Boulevard in Legazpi City Port. Bonding time for the members. Everyone spoke with each other. The children were laughing and talking to each other.

After the walk, the group went to Boklan Restaurant for some rice, vegetables and noodles. Shopping for school supplies and other things came next and again, it was time to say goodbye to each other. The same day, Mel K. left Legazpi to San Fernando, La Union for another twenty (20) hours of bus drive.

The group is thanking Fam. Fester, Fam. Klingler, Frau Hessenauer and Frau Mehringer for their untiring support. Without their help to Mel, the latter will not be able to continue the financial support to Margie, Michael and Marites.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you very much!
